new Pocket button: testing needed was created by Ruud van Lent
Hi,

I have just implemented Pocket 'Read it later' button in jsSocials plugin.
I am not familiar with pocket, so could do with some community testing.
{jssocials}
The pocket buttons is now configured to show on: desktop, mobile, tablet (all device types) > this is a new feature for the next version.

What I am especially interested in, is:
  • Does pressing the pocket button work on all devices?
  • Does pressing the button on a mobile device / tablet succesfully start the Pocket app (when installed)?
  • Is the stored url in pocket correct (with utm codes for tracking and analysis)?
  • Is the title in the pocket app / webpage of the saved webpage correct?

* Does pressing the pocket button work on all devices?
YES (tested on Desktop, Android and iOS)

*Does pressing the button on a mobile device / tablet succesfully start the Pocket app (when installed)?
On Android, pressing button pops up Complete action using option and offers Pocket application for saving. On iPhone opens new tab in browser and saves page if you are already signed in. Otherwise it asks for Sign in or Register just like on Desktop

is this as expected?
the reason I ask is that I use instead of _self, the popup function os jssocials: that works slightly different :)

On Android is as expected.
I think on iPhone is too. You can copy url from browser and open Pocket application and paste url or enable Pocket Share Extension in iOS.

The Pocket share extension in iOS makes it easy to save to Pocket from any app that uses the native share menu. Once Pocket has been enabled, saving to Pocket is quick and easy.

Please note that Share Extensions are available in iOS 8 or higher. If you're using an older version of iOS, we recommend that you update your device.

Enabling the Pocket Share Extension

Enabling the Pocket Share Extension is easy, and only takes a moment. Here’s how:

1. Open Safari on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch
2. Tap the Share button
3. Swipe the top row (with the colored icons) and tap More
4. Enable Pocket
5. (Optional) Move Pocket to the top of the list
6. Tap Done

Unfortunately I did not test with enabled that extension because I had iPhone in my hand for only few minutes so I would like to hear other people.

This is how it looks on Android phone:

Okay,

cool how it looks on your device!
will do a PR for the script on github, I have some spare time now.
If others test and it doesn't work it can be easily fixed.
Thanks for your testing effort :)
