Infinite Scroll... (05 Mar 2019)

You may have noticed it, on the forum pages that have more then one page, the pagination links have 'gone'. Instead these pages now 'Infinite Scroll' via a new plugin I am working on. It will automaticalliy load new topics / posts when scrolling down... How cool is that :)
You can test it on this thread: onlinecommunityhub.nl/forum/jssocials

Arg, the comment system buttons on your site are in a different language now!

So... yes, I have installed ochOpenGraph on www.sardasa.org

This site extensively uses JCal Pro.

NONE of the Twitter Cards work on any JCal Pro pages.

However this page shows a nice small image on Facebook, while no card at all on Twitter.

Note: tis is one of the few events that actually use a large image.

Most event pages are like this page which uses small images, but it falls back to another image on the footer of the page, 400x445px - although my minimum image size is specified as 700x425px. The plugin is not selecting the fallback image for FB.

No Twitter Card is created.

Similar to the above, but this page doesn't have any images. Still uses the footer image for FB, and no Twitter Card is created.

Those are some examples of JCal Pro.

This site on the other hand does render the homepage, and many other content pages without a problem.

Hi,

just had a look at the pages you provided. It is important to unerstand how facebook and twitter 'operate'.
When a URL is shared with them, they visit the page and first look of the metatags are present. For twitter they start with '<meta name="twitter:...' and facebook uses '<meta property="og:...'
These tags are 'injected' by ochOpenGraph when supported, you can see these tags in the page source (on FireFox you press ctrl-u)

Now when these tags are NOT present, facebook and twitter will parse the page and try to firgure it out themselves, they take the first image they encounter that has enough resolution, they take the description text they find on the page, etc.

So first thing to check is if the metatags are set. For the home page they are set, for the jcal pages they are not and facebook will use what it finds.

jCal is not supported by ochOpenGraph. So that currently leaves you with the custom module route as described in the documentation.

If you have a test site that I can temporarily 'break' and have ftp access to, or if you have a (akeeba) backup for a jcal site, I can see if jCal pro can be supported out-of-the-box by ochOpenGraph.

OK - Here is a test site via Akeeba Backup.
This is a duplicate of the current live site.

Hi,
just implemented support for JCal Pro
ochOpenGraph content plugin is now triggered on all JCal Pro views.

When on the event view (single event), it will try to find an image in the event description.

When on another view or on when no image found on the event descption, it will try to take the Custom Image and when that is not available will set the fallback image.

If you can test, that would be helpful :)

Downloadlink to test version is in first post in this thread.

Looking forward to results!

regards,
Ruud.
