Experiencing a 401 Unauthorized Error During Update?

If you're seeing a 401 Unauthorized error when trying to update your Joomla extension, it's likely due to our new two-factor authentication (2FA) security measure for your Download ID.
To resolve this, check your email (Spam folder?) for a message to approve your server or device, or read our detailed blog post here( onlinecommunityhub.nl/best-practice/new-...-extension-downloads) to understand the steps involved. This will guide you through approving your server for future updates.

Hello,

We are having a strange problem with both ochJSsocials and ochOpenGraph while using the custom field functionality and Cloudflare Cache. For example in ochOpenGraph we use a custom field to define the image and in ochOpenGraph we use a custom field to define the URL (to be shared). Both functions work perfect whenever Cloudflare Cache is disabled, but when enabled both fallback to the default settings in case of ochOpenGraph instead of using the custom image it uses the fallback image and with ochJSsocials  it uses the default URL instead of the one defined via the custom field. By the way this happens with any caching solution we have tried not just Cloudflare. What is particularly interesting is that Cloudflare being an external caching provider is just fetching the pages the way Joomla outputs them.

Please help.

Thanks!

Alex

Hi Alex, that is indeed strange.
Currently in vacation and only on mobile now (in transit) so no solution for your inquiry.
I will look into it when I am back or have access to internet and my laptop.

Hi Alex,
picking up the slack caused by my vacation :)
Do you have a front-end URL where I can have a quick look?

Hi Alex,

I just debugged the page with the Facebook Sharing debugger ( developers.facebook.com/tools/debug)

I see here that it og:url is set correct and the redirects are followed to the destination URL that facebook will use:

I also see that the image set by ochOpenGraph is the image ending in url '/opengraph'. Is that the image you set as custom field?

Hi Ruud,

Yes all this is correct, I don't know why it works for you now. The issue is very strange. For example, as soon as I disable the cache, purge it all, basically I am starting from scratch and then I go quickly to the page it seems to cache the page fine, meaning that it uses the correct image and URL. But mostly this is not the case. So, for example, pages get cached with Cloudflare at the closest edge as soon as a visitor visits the page. What I am experiencing is that if I am the one going first to the page, the page gets cached properly and I think in this case the same happened when you visited the link, it got cached correctly. So I thought it might be something with Cloudflare, so I tried another caching solution (LiteSpeed) and I got similar issues and that’s when I discovered that it only behaves this way when using custom Joomla fields. I did several tests with scripts calling various information from Joomla like publishing date, author etc… and none of them create a problem. The problem only appears when using a third party component with custom Joomla fields. This is not definitive as of yet, but this is were I am at. Also I don’t know all the ins and out of your plugin, it always works when I disable caching the question again is, if it works with caching disabled why will it not just cache the page as such? Thanks!
Alex

Hi Alex,
How is cloudflare doing the caching, did you need to install something on apache / joomla (like a plugin), or is the caching done 'externally'?

Right now the link I sent you previously does not get cached because I told Cloudflare not to cache it anymore. You will see that it always works:
www.mixedtimes.com/politics/europe-brace...after-gulf-crackdown

But, this page which has been cached does not work:
www.mixedtimes.com/business/futures-rise...nvidia-earnings-loom

No, it just pulls it like a reverse proxy I think. Nothing is installed or configured on the server.
