Hello,
How do I get the plugin to work in Joomla 5.4.1?
I installed and enabled the plugin, but it doesn't work.
Thank you very much.
I'm still waiting.

Hello Noemi,
thanks for reaching out.
Anyway, lets get you up and running.
Can you provide me with an url to your website / page where you want to have ochOpenGraph running so I can have a look at the page source code to see what is happening and why?

Did I miss something, email perhaps?I'm still waiting

Hello Noemi,
on that page (home page) I can see that ochOpenGraph is running and it sets all metatags that it can set (title / description), it doesn't set an image as on that page there is no image (it is a featured articles page?)
So you need to configure ochOpenGraph with a fallback image. That image will then be used when there is no (usable) image on the page.
I visited another page on the site and that had all metatags set correctly.
You can quickly check for your self by pressing ctrl-u in your browser when visiting the page you want to check. This will show the page source: you then need to look for the metatags that start with og:
Please note that checking on facebook is also an option but not ideal: when you share a link on facebook it is cached by facebook. So when you change the page it will on a next visit still display the old information.
Do you need help with configuring ochOpenGraph, I can help if you want.
Let me know how you want to proceed.
regards,
Ruud

Hi,
in the back-end of your site:
1. got System > Plugin > search for ochOpenGraph and open this
2. in tab [OpenGraph Settings] configure 'Final Fallback image'
Note that Facebook requires an image of at least 200 pixels width / height: the bigger the better (I always use a minimum of 1200 px width). This doesn't impact performance of your site (big image) as this is image is only used by facebook: facebook will download it and cache it on their servers to display it with the page when that is shared by someone.
Tip: when in the configuration, click top-right corner > 'Toggle Inline Help' and every field you can configure will get additional help information to explain what it does.
Is this sufficient for you or do you need more information?
