Experiencing a 401 Unauthorized Error During Update?
If you're seeing a 401 Unauthorized error when trying to update your Joomla extension, it's likely due to our new two-factor authentication (2FA) security measure for your Download ID.
To resolve this, check your email (Spam folder?) for a message to approve your server or device, or read our detailed blog post here(
onlinecommunityhub.nl/best-practice/new-...-extension-downloads) to understand the steps involved. This will guide you through approving your server for future updates.

Do NOT download the GeoIP Database more then one time a day as this may result in your server being blocked from downloading the database.
The adviced download frequency is once per month.
Could this update be done automatically (as an option)? In a busy day it's not easy to remember everything that needs updating.
Otherwise, thanks for a great extension!

thanks for your question.
The reason why it doesn't update automatically is twofold:
1. updating takes a long time, which is done by a user when done automatically
2. the geoip database rarely updates itself: the maintainer of the database states that there are only very limited changes on a monthly basis.
So once downloaded, you are good to go for a (very) long time
Further more: when automated and triggered by a visitor, the visitor can leave the page before it is completed or reload the page because it takes to long to complete (longer as he expects). So automating should ideally be done in a controlled session: e.g. via a cron that visits a special url on your site that will then download and parse the geoip files.
I will add this to my 'feature, but needs thinking list'

Thanks for the quick reply.
First time download of the NetSets could take quite some time, but my experience is that later updates are pretty quick.
If using a cron job is the best solution, that's fine with us. Of course, when you say that there are only very limited changes on a monthly basis, there's no hurry for this. But thanks for putting it on your list!

[strike]I think there's a bug, it only seems to show two random files, instead of showing all.[/strike]
UPDATE: It's only showing files in "/administrator/logs", but my log files are in "/logs".
My newest sites don't even have the folder "/administrator/logs", and the extension fails, giving the error message Path is not a folder.
The extension should use the specified "Path to Log Folder" in Global Configuration.

Hi, thanks for reporting and updating.
That is a good suggestion to take the global config log location instead of making the (wrong) assumption.
BTW: when doing a fresh install of Joomla, the log location is set to administrator/logs, I know that this was not always the case
Will push out an update when implemented!
Thanks again!
regards,
Ruud.

Thanks, that's very good, considering admin can change the location to whatever he/she wants.
I have to disagree with you on the default location. I'm no expert, but I think it's the other way around. As far as I know it used to be in /administrator in earlier Joomla versions. I just installed a fresh copy of Joomla 3.9.16 at Launch Joomla, and the logs folder is located in ./logs.

anyway....
just pushed ochLogFiles version 1.0.1 that will now take the Global Config location as default (until you change it in the component).
Thanks again!
Have a good weekend and stay safe!

in the first post (your post) I have added a download link to the 1.9.0 test version.
Added in this version is the possibility to automate (via e.g. cronjob) the GeoIP databases.
Instructions in the GeoIP NetSets tab.
In case of issues, you can reinstall version 1.8.0.
Looking forward to your feedback!
Please remember, downloading to many times a day will get you banned on the GeoIP database site, so test with care
