Add extra field for files was created by Dmitrijs Rekuns
Hi Ruud,

Please have a look how the obsolete files look like on the front-end:

The solution is not good: I added a shortcode to the filename.
 e..g. filename:
NorrCompetition AltaUserPoints (Joomla 3) {VAR-LABEL-OBSOLETE}

And the shortcode consists of the html with markup. It looks nice visually, but it's not good when it comes to the statistics to see the downloaded files.

Could it be possible to add an extra field to the file?

We have discussed  this subject several years ago, but it seems it's a good time to return to this discussion again :-)
Thank you.

Regards,
Eugene

Hi Eugene,
can you describe as how you would like to have that implemented?
e.g. add a radio button to the file with which you can toggle the state to obsolete?

Hi Ruud,
I guess it is enough to add a text field. Maybe someone needs custom values... Joomla 3, Obsolete and something like that.
Thank you!

I, the new version has tags support. with that I think you can do what you are looking for.
create tags, like Joomla3, Joomla4, obsolete, deprecated, etc. and assign them to the file
These will then be displayed and the visitor can filter on them.
For an example see here:  onlinecommunityhub.nl/downloads/ochsubscriptions
and here for the tags on the file page itself:  onlinecommunityhub.nl/downloads/ochsubsc...hsubscriptions-5-3-2
