Experiencing a 401 Unauthorized Error During Update?

If you're seeing a 401 Unauthorized error when trying to update your Joomla extension, it's likely due to our new two-factor authentication (2FA) security measure for your Download ID.
To resolve this, check your email (Spam folder?) for a message to approve your server or device, or read our detailed blog post here( onlinecommunityhub.nl/best-practice/new-...-extension-downloads) to understand the steps involved. This will guide you through approving your server for future updates.

ochJSsocials share on Facebook was created by Ton van der Helm
Hello Ruud,

Everything fine I hope.
On studiovandergoesslapen.nl I use ochJSsocials to easily share the 'Actie' pages on Facebook.
Most of the time the image doesn't fit the window on the Facebook timeline.
That's no bother because I can edit the post and then put in the right sized image.
But for a short time, I guess a month or two, editing the image gives a error on Facebook.
Changing the image for another one can't be done.
So sharing the 'Actie' pages in this way doesn't work anymore for me.
Can you maybe tell if this a Facebook issue?
Thanks!

Hi Ton,
facebook (but also twitter / linkedin) have a 'prefered' image size: for facebook this is: 1200px x 630px here you can read some more about it: developers.facebook.com/docs/sharing/webmasters/images/

on first share of a page, facebook caches what is shared: so changing the image will not work because facebook (and twitter / linkedin) will always use what is in their cache.

So when you want to change the image, you also need to tell facebook to fetch the new image, you can doo that with the facebook share debugger: developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/

you need to explicitely hit the 'Scrape Again' button to clea the cache and instruct facebook to create a new cache of what it finds at that time.

When lookng at one of your pages you can see that the image is not in the aspect ratio of 1200 x 630 so it crops it itself in that dimension dropping the call to action text you have on the image.

So my advise is:
  • use an image of at least 1200 x 630 pixels (must be in that aspect ratio)
  • when changing anithing sharing relates (like new image) use the facebook share debugger to instruct facebook to display the new image

Does this help Ton?
