Experiencing a 401 Unauthorized Error During Update?

If you're seeing a 401 Unauthorized error when trying to update your Joomla extension, it's likely due to our new two-factor authentication (2FA) security measure for your Download ID.
To resolve this, check your email (Spam folder?) for a message to approve your server or device, or read our detailed blog post here( onlinecommunityhub.nl/best-practice/new-...-extension-downloads) to understand the steps involved. This will guide you through approving your server for future updates.

Canonical link issue was created by daclina
Hey Ruud,

I noticed something strange with the latest build of ochBlog - the canonical link comes up as an actual label and a link in the canonical page - it is meant to be in the code.

If you take a look here you will notice the label combing up above the article. If you check the source code, you will see there is already a canonical link in the top of the page (it's not the URL I added to the canonical custom field), but the ochBlog labels is just there like a link.

Take a look here

Hi Hristo,

I think that you have enabled the 'Automatic Dsiplay' in the cananical field.
That value should be set to 'no' otherwhise the field will be added to the content.

Can you check this?

Yes, thank you... that hides it from the page.

The rel=canonical tag however is still incorrect in the code. It should point to this

as that is added to the canonical in the custom field in on the article level (and configured as such under the ochBlog settings).

Okay,

did you add the Joomla Custom article field for the canonical in the ochBlog options (settings tab)?

Hi Hristo,

this is a sh404SEF feature...
when this setting is enabled, then sh404SEF will overwrite all settings (inclusive canonical).
When you disable this, then the correct canonical link is displayed.
Have not looked into what sh404SEF actually replaces, but a lot of these things can also be set with the ochSEO|SMO basic tools component / plugin (like generator tag, alt text for images, keywords, etc.

Thanks for the thorough check.

Unfortunately, I disabled the sh404sef SEO management setting (above as per your reply) and on the page we used as an example, a canonical link is now just not provided.

Not sure why it isn't showing up for me.

Strange, I have tested it with both 'activate SEO management' AND 'remove other canonicals' to No.

Can you try that?
